My Fish

I have a fish
his name is Bob
he won't do tricks
and has a cousin called mob

He won't shake hands
or sing or pray
or go to to school
thank goodness hip hooray!

In fact he won't do a single thing
he doesn't blow bubbles
or swim around
he doesn't even sing

When folks ask why? I tell them 'cause my fish was raised by crazy cats!!

What you will need:

  • If necessary a knife
  • Some kiwiana pictures

  2. Find some images that you want to draw, you should at have at least four objects.
  3. Start sketching all the the things you draw should be bigger than your hand, the next thing you draw has to either cover or tuck in behind the first image.
  4. Continue drawing until just about all of the page is filled up {make sure there is negative space}
  5. use the black vivid to trace around the objects on the paper
  6. Now, choose some coloured dye and fill the back round up completely with the dye.
  7. Leave it dry, or if you have a hairdryer dry it with that.
  8. Once dry, get the pastels and colour the pictures in.
  9. If you want to, use the knife to carve out dome pastel to make awesome groves, and faded lines.
  10. AND, YOU HAVE JUST MADE SOME OVERLAPPING KIWIANA ART!!!

The St Clair I know

The sea High on the St Clair hill

The sea dazzles and sparkles before my eyes

The reddish, yellow sun sits high in the sky making a sparkle to my day

The seagulls squawking above my head like a never-ending debate, planning to steal my fish ‘n’ chip tea

White island looming deep out at sea like a whales arching back*

I imagine the St Clair soldiers marching down the sand the poles are a reminder of those how fought.

Wind, and the rain *

might drive you insane *

But the views high up on those on those rolling hills, is enough to calm a tiger

The esplanade is busy attracting people to its amazing cafĂ©’s begging people to come *

The dunes and views are never the same

The creatures are the things that make the eco-system complete

The cute little seals riding the waves

If you are lucky you might see frisky penguins bounding about

Dogs galloping up and down the beach never stoping for a breath

Seagulls flying high in the sky

Sand hoppers never stop hopping

The salty smell filling your nostrils

The sandy taste fills your cheeks

Hear the waves crashing on the sand

Look at the amazing view

I wouldn’t have it any other way
